Bulgogi is Korea’s sweet soy-marinated beef. CJ sells bulgogi marinade abroad in these three packs, among others: the bibigo Korean BBQ Marinade & Sauce jar in the US, an 80 g bibigo sachet in the UK, and an 840 g CJ bottle in Canada. All three call for about 30 minutes of marinating (the US jar and the Canadian bottle say at least 30), but the amount of sauce per pound of meat differs.
How to cook it
Marinate (US 16.9 oz jar) at least 30 min[1][2][3]
- Coat the meat or seafood with the sauce. One 16.9 oz jar is enough for 5 lb of meat.
- Marinate for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
Glaze chicken or salmon (US jar) [2][3]
- Brush the sauce on, to taste, while you cook, flipping continuously.
UK 80 g sachet: marinate, then oven or stir-fry 30 min, then 10–20 min[4][5][6]
- Use one 80 g sachet for 300 g of beef. The pack also lists 60 g of onion and 30 g of shiitake mushroom.
- Marinate the beef for 30 minutes.
- Grill it in the oven at 170–190 °C (about 340–375 °F) for 10–20 minutes, or stir-fry on high heat until the meat is cooked. Thinly sliced beef is best for stir-frying.
CJ 840 g bottle (Canada) at least 30 min[7][8]
- Marinate 2.2 lb of sliced, bite-size beef with 0.45 lb of the sauce for at least 30 minutes.
- Grill both sides, flipping continuously so it doesn’t burn.
Costco Taiwan’s listing for the same 840 g bottle uses the same ratio: 40 g of sauce for 200 g of beef, for at least 30 minutes.[8]
