How to Microwave Ottogi Cooked White Rice
- Microwave: Peel the film back at one corner to the dotted line, then microwave on high for about 2 minutes. Check the time on your bowl.
From the maker’s directions. Full steps and sources below.

Ottogi’s cooked white rice comes in a 210 g (7.4 oz) microwave bowl.[2][3] In Korea it’s sold as 오뚜기밥, “Ottogi rice”.[4] The steps below are the pack text shown by UK grocer Ocado; German shop Nikan Kitchen gives the same 2-minute time in its own words.[1][2]
How to cook it
Microwave about 2 min[1][2]
- Peel back the film at the corner, up to the dotted line.
- Put the bowl in the microwave and heat on high for about 2 minutes.
Times differ between versions. The UK pack text on Ocado, for a pack it lists as 150 g, says 2 minutes at 700 W, and Nikan Kitchen’s 210 g listing says about 2 minutes on high.[1][2] A Korean 210 g Koshihikari bowl says 2 minutes 30 seconds at 700 W, or 3 minutes 30 seconds for two bowls.[4] Go by the time on your bowl, and use the time converter if your microwave isn’t 700 W.
The same UK pack text gives a second method: boil the unopened pack in water for 10 minutes, then lift it out carefully.[1] We found that in one place only, so check your pack; the Korean Koshihikari bowl says 15 minutes in boiling water.[4]
